Jinshanling Great Wall is located 80 miles (130 kilometers) northeast of Beijing, nestling away from the bustling downtown. It used to be a sound defensive system including barrier walls, battlement walls, watchtowers, gun emplacements, shooting holes, horse blocking walls, and branch cities. Today, it is renowned as the "Paradise of Photographers" and a popular tourist destination because of its magnificent appearance and intoxicating scenery. This section of the Wall offered a serene and almost solitary journey through one of the world's most magnificent historical treasures. The beauty of Jinshanling, with its rugged terrain and panoramic views, was breathtaking.
8:00: The professional English-speaking guide and driver pick you up from the hotel lobby.
11:00: Get to the Jinshanling Great Wall. After entrance, you will walk a little bit to the tower pass and trek some steps to the mountain top tower. Then the grandur will show up in front of you. The wall lies along the ridge to the farther mountain. After treking through few towers with up-and-down terrain, we can take same way back or go down via a short cut way.
13:00-14:30: To have lunch in local restaurant.
15:00: Drive back to the hotel in down town.

This section is always nearly-empty through out whole year even on the National Day holiday. (the maxium capacity for visitors is 22000 people but only 3000 people on busy day which is only less than 10% of Badaling Great Wall, the most crowded one.)
Put on comfortable shoes, not necessarily hiking shoes.
Sun cream is suggested in summer which is from June to August.
This section is famous for taking pictures especially the sun rise and sen set. For that purpose, please refer to the photo trip on this website.
